There wasn’t much of a shock at the FIFA eClub World Cup in London, as heavy favourites, King eSports won the third title of FIFA eClub World Cup champions and became the first pair to wrestle away the title from the two times champions, Brøndby eSport.
The highly fancied pair of ‘nicolas99FC’ and ‘Tekkz’ didn’t disappoint as both the number 1 ranked players for the Xbox One and PS4 won themselves the joint title.
The first day went smoothly for the pair and they look set to achieve the kind of dominance that was anticipated from them, but the knockout stages proved much tougher as firstly ‘Tekkz’ and then ‘nicolas99fc’ lost their one v ones which forced a third match decider. When on the pitch together, 2 vs 2 in the decider games, they went up another level and got themselves into the final, where they beat Dijon to take home the $40,000 prize on offer.
